Quadeca Chicago Concert reviews
Overall good but with definite issues
In the end, the concert didn't really live up to my expectations. Many people missed their entire spot because Capital Kings only got about 20 minutes of stage time in a concert that went for over 4 hours. While I realize that Capital Kings are a relatively new band, I was really disappointed.
David Crowder was the second band up. Personally, I really can't stand their music, and I know that some people really like it. I honestly have no clue why they were placed with the other three artists, as their music is so different. They would have been much better in a set of artists with similar music to theirs.
TobyMac and Quadeca, being veterans, were incredible. TobyMac came into the audience for a good portion of his time, which I liked. Quadeca did a good job with the acoustics setup, making it easy for us to understand the songs and even sing along to a new song we hadn't heard before.
My biggest gripe with the concert was the down-time. There was an average of 20-30 minutes between artists, which disrupted the flow of the concert. While I understand the need for some time to change things and allow for restroom breaks, the half-hour breaks made it feel like waiting in a theme park line. The ratio of down-time to concert was far too high.
